Not so long ago I spotting some guy in a coffee coloured baseball cap, blue jeans and a dark blue padded jacket acting suspicious in the back garden at no9.He was kneeling down in the trash & I knew right away he was up too no good. He then stood by the washing drying on a cloths tree right by the back garden close door. Where he then removed what looked like a bath towel & quickly left after a door banged, startling him.
I rushed to the front of the building and confronted him from my front window. Shouting down, "are you stealing the washing off the cloths line". But he refused to look up and tried too get into my building & away through the back doors till I shouted. " Where the hell are you going". The sound of a fast moving car coming up behind him, I think spooked him a second time & he legged it up the hill. Along with his stolen booty shoved into his blue plastic bag.
All this was played out right across from the CCTV camera and a camera that doesn't seem to have any effect what so ever in deterring criminals. Plus with the inadequate door entry systems that are allowing access to the back doors, where these bastards are now stealing off washing lines. Then don't be surprised any time soon if my next blogs about some child's toys going AWOL or about some a dead junkie with the needle still in his veins, lying propped up against my front door.
Anything is possible in Clavering street and stealing some ones washing is an all time low and given the foot traffic that close has seen, I'm not fucking surprised but feel for the decent people who have to live here day in and day out. The nights still young so anything could happen before bed time.
